Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district, has recently taken to social media to express his concerns regarding immigration enforcement and local leadership. His statements have stirred discussions on issues related to law enforcement and political accountability.
On June 8, 2025, Rep. Ogles tweeted about his stance on harassment towards Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He stated, “Jail everyone harassing ICE. California leaders endorsing or supporting this behavior should be investigated and prosecuted if they are actively obstructing ICE.” This tweet highlights his firm position on protecting federal law enforcement agencies from interference.
The following day, June 9, 2025, Rep. Ogles addressed civil unrest with a tweet stating, “These aren’t riots — this is an active rebellion. If we want to keep this from happening in Tennessee, we must stop Freddie O’Connell and every Tennessee official endorsing illegal alien lawlessness.” His message reflects a call for action against officials he believes support illegal activities.
Later that day, he raised concerns about the actions of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass with another tweet: “Is Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass knowingly encouraging illegal aliens to reside in LA?” This query indicates skepticism regarding the mayor’s policies on immigration.
Andy Ogles was born in Nashville in 1971 and currently resides in Columbia. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and later from Western Kentucky University in 1993.
