Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, has been vocal about legislative priorities and local issues through his recent social media posts.
On June 5, 2025, Rep. Ogles emphasized his stance on fiscal responsibility in a tweet stating, “I’m all in for more cuts to the bill. It’s big, but it’s not beautiful yet.” He stressed that it is the Senate’s duty to refine the bill before returning it to the House, which should focus on passing DOGE rescissions and EO codification bills rather than adjourning.
Later that day, he addressed a local incident involving a hit-and-run case in Nashville. In his tweet at 16:56 UTC, he reported that “This illegal criminal hit a visitor in Nashville with his car and fled the scene.” Ogles claimed his office was first to alert authorities and called upon Tennessee residents to aid in apprehending the suspect.
In another tweet posted at 21:31 UTC on June 5, Ogles reiterated his commitment to enhancing legislation with specific goals of increased cuts and deportations while aligning with MAGA principles. He stated “Some are focused on the big beautiful brawl — but every one in Congress should be focused on making the Big Beautiful Bill better.”
Andy Ogles was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1971 and resides in Columbia. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University with degrees earned by 1993.
