Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on August 5, 2025, addressing national political figures and public safety in Washington, D.C.

In his first tweet at 15:38 UTC, Ogles wrote, “President Trump shouts his love for America from the rooftops. Democrats couldn’t fake that if they tried.”

Later that day at 16:31 UTC, he tweeted about former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: “The Clintons? Open-and-shut. Haul them in, grill them under oath, and prosecute.”

In a subsequent post at 20:32 UTC, Ogles commented on crime in Washington, D.C., stating: “My team just got off the phone with the mother of a Congressional intern who was murdered just months ago. The urban youths in DC are killing people—and the city’s leadership is doing nothing. @BasedMikeLee and I have the solution: repeal DC Home Rule and take back the city.”

Ogles succeeded Jim Cooper as representative for Tennessee’s 5th district after winning election in 2022. Born in Nashville in 1971 and currently residing in Columbia, Ogles holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
