Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, published several statements on August 8, 2025, regarding federal law enforcement activities in Washington D.C., legislative proposals, and criticism of political opponents.
In a post at 11:19 a.m. UTC, Ogles wrote, “Presidents Trump is having Federal Law Enforcement patrol DC’s streets for 7 days. Congress needs to match the President’s energy and pass the Bowser Act to save our Capital permanently.”
Later that day at 2:45 p.m. UTC, he posted another message: “Thanks, Russ! There’s plenty of woke rot coming out of Fogarty—and I’m not done blowing the whistle. Can’t wait to shut them down.”
At 3:30 p.m. UTC on the same day, Ogles added: “DC elites are furious that President Trump and I are restoring law and order in our Capital—so furious they’re telling us to “back the hell up” and comparing us to ‘plantation owners.’ Democrats race-bait every time Republicans govern. This isn’t about race, it’s about law and”
Ogles has served as a member of Congress since replacing Jim Cooper in 2023. He was born in Nashville in 1971 and currently resides in Columbia, Tennessee. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
