Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, has taken to social media to express his concerns over recent comments made by former FBI Director James Comey. Ogles, who replaced Jim Cooper in Congress, was born in Nashville and resides in Columbia.
On May 15, 2025, Rep. Ogles tweeted “James Comey just effectively called for the assassination of President Trump.” He further stated that due to Comey’s past position as an FBI Director, there is “a real possibility that some agents remain loyal to him,” and urged the Secret Service to investigate immediately.
Later on the same day, he posted a brief tweet “FAFO.”
In another post dated May 16, 2025, Ogles announced “I just sent a letter to Secret Service Director Sean Curran and FBI Director Kash Patel.” The letter urges an immediate joint investigation into Comey for a “disturbing social media post” allegedly calling to “86” President Trump.
