Rep. Andy Ogles, who represents Tennessee’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media account on August 6, 2025, to call for legislative action and express concerns about governance in Washington, D.C.
In a post published at 11:25 a.m., Ogles wrote: “We must get the BOWSER ACT passed. Republicans have no excuse, we either fix our Capital or we lose our country.”
Later that day, at 5:45 p.m., he continued his appeal by stating: “They are COOKING THE BOOKS. Congress needs to come back to DC and pass the Bowser Act. Home rule needs to go. Let’s take back OUR city.”
At 7:37 p.m., Ogles posted another message urging strict immigration enforcement: “Heed the call. Deport them all.”
Andy Ogles has served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2023, succeeding Jim Cooper as the representative for Tennessee’s 5th District. Born in Nashville in 1971 and currently residing in Columbia, Ogles holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
