Rep. Andy Ogles, who represents Tennessee’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, published a series of tweets on July 17, 2025, voicing criticism toward diversity initiatives and expressing strong opposition to amnesty policies.

In his first tweet at 20:19 UTC, Ogles wrote, “DEFUND THIS FILTH.”

Later that evening at 21:45 UTC, Ogles referenced criticism he received from Belmont University over his stance on their diversity efforts. He stated, ” Belmont is attacking me for exposing the DEI operation they’re still running—claiming I’m being ‘deceptive’ for calling their Office of Hope, Unity, and Belonging a DEI cover-up. Their own website literally defines the HUB as ‘Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging.’ FYI: https://t.co/bcEQbTG7dq”

Concluding his series of posts for the day at 23:19 UTC, Ogles declared his position on immigration policy by posting “NO AMNESTY!!!”

Andy Ogles has served in Congress since replacing Jim Cooper in 2023 and currently resides in Columbia. Born in Nashville in 1971 and now age 51, Ogles holds degrees from both Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
