Rep. Andy Ogles, U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on July 22, 2025, criticizing Democrats and Belmont University regarding immigration and diversity policies.
In his first post at 18:08 UTC, Ogles wrote: ” Everyone needs to see this:
Democrats are now openly ADMITTING they’re attempting to hijack the census by flooding the country with illegal aliens. This was never about compassion—it’s about power.”
An hour later, he commented on campus politics at Belmont University, stating: ” Gen Z Belmont Alum: Belmont has a responsibility to stop shoving woke politics down its students’ throats.” (19:08 UTC).
Ogles followed up with further remarks concerning the university at 20:08 UTC: “I didn’t set out to go after Belmont. They do a lot of good for many in my district.
But hiding illegal aliens and quietly rebranding DEI is a clear violation of federal law. I’m still hopeful Belmont will do the right thing—because if they don’t, this situation will only get”
Andy Ogles was born in Nashville in 1971 and currently resides in Columbia, Tennessee. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a BS degree and also attended Western Kentucky University in 1993.
