Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district, shared a series of tweets on May 12, 2025, addressing various political issues. Ogles, who succeeded Jim Cooper in 2023, expressed his views on immigration, Medicaid, and foreign policy.
In a tweet posted at 16:02 UTC, Ogles questioned the actions of Democrats regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia. He wrote: “So let me get this straight… Kilmar Abrego Garcia comes here illegally, beats his wife, threatens to kill her, runs with MS-13, and gets named by a human smuggler as a key player in his operation. And Democrats cheer for this guy?”
Later that day at 17:09 UTC, Ogles addressed issues within Medicaid. He stated: “DOGE pulled back the curtain on the waste, fraud, and abuse rotting Medicaid from the inside. Congress must fix it—no more excuses, no more freeloaders.”
In another tweet at 19:40 UTC, Ogles compared former President Trump’s approach to terrorism with that of President Biden. He remarked: “Unlike Joe Biden, President Trump is confronting terrorists head-on and winning. Praise God, another American hostage is free.”
Andy Ogles was born in Nashville in 1971 and resides in Columbia. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
