Andy Ogles, who represents Tennessee’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, is known for his outspoken views on various political matters. Ogles recently shared his perspectives on issues concerning the media, government policies, and political figures through a series of tweets.
On April 28, 2025, Ogles tweeted, “If the mainstream media wants to lionize rapists, wife-beaters, and drug dealers, they shouldn’t mind standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them on camera.” Ogles’ comment suggests criticism towards the mainstream media’s portrayal of certain individuals.
Later that day, he addressed political actions against former President Trump. In his tweet, Ogles stated, “In short: he’s trying to impeach Trump for deporting terrorists, streamlining government, and cutting waste. What a joke.” This comment indicates his disapproval of the attempts to impeach Trump based on the mentioned actions.
On the following day, April 29, 2025, Ogles posted a tweet about the selective outrage concerning due process and deportations. He wrote, “CRY HARDER : The Left’s Selective Outrage on ‘Due Process’ and Deportations.” This tweet seems to criticize reactions from the political left regarding due process and immigration policies.
Andy Ogles, 51, was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and now resides in Columbia. He began serving Tennessee’s 5th district in 2023, following his predecessor Jim Cooper. Ogles is an alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University, where he received his education in the early ’90s.
