Rep. Andy Ogles, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, shared his views on international diplomacy and domestic issues through a series of tweets on May 10, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 14:15 UTC, Rep. Ogles praised former President Donald Trump for his diplomatic efforts with India and Pakistan. He stated, “Only a leader with true resolve, like President Trump, could bring nuclear rivals like India and Pakistan to the table. This isn’t diplomacy for show. It’s peace through strength, grounded in moral clarity and backed by American might.”
Later that day at 18:16 UTC, Ogles criticized the Democratic Party’s stance on immigration enforcement in New Jersey. He tweeted, “All Democrats seem to do these days is defend people who illegally hop fences. So it’s no surprise to see them doing it in New Jersey. This behavior is disgraceful—these individuals didn’t just break the law, they violently charged at federal officers in a full-blown political.”
At 19:34 UTC on the same day, Rep. Ogles expressed his admiration for El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele during a visit to CECOT (Center for Excellence in Counter-Terrorism). He commented on Trump’s policies against criminal organizations by tweeting, “Honored to spend time with President @nayibbukele and tour CECOT. President Trump is making sure terrorists, traffickers, and cartel scum never get the chance to hurt Americans again.”
Andy Ogles was born in Nashville in 1971 and currently resides in Columbia. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
