Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about his political activities and views. Born in Nashville in 1971, Ogles currently resides in Columbia and holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
On May 8, 2025, Rep. Ogles announced his upcoming appearance on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo via Twitter: “About to join @Mariabartiromo on @FoxBusiness. Tune in!”
Later that day, he expressed strong opinions regarding immigration enforcement: “If I find out that local officials are harboring illegal aliens—people whose very first act on American soil was to break the law—I will use every tool at my disposal in Congress to investigate, expose, and punish them for aiding and abetting gangs, traffickers, and criminals.”
In another tweet posted shortly after noon on the same day, Rep. Ogles shared his support for former President Trump’s policies: “President Trump’s BOLD vision for America demands a BOLD response from Congress. That means permanent tax cuts, massive spending cuts, and gutting the bloated bureaucracy. It’s time to seize the moment and follow Trump’s lead.”
Andy Ogles succeeded Jim Cooper as the representative of Tennessee’s 5th district following the latter’s departure from Congress.
