Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district, has recently taken to social media to share updates on his legislative activities and investigations. Ogles, who succeeded Jim Cooper in 2023, was born in Nashville and resides in Columbia. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
On July 8, 2025, Rep. Ogles announced via Twitter that he and Senator Mike Lee introduced the BOWSER Act aimed at giving Congress authority over Washington D.C. In his tweet, he expressed optimism about the initiative’s momentum: “YUP! We can run D.C.”
Later that day, Ogles shared a “sneak peek” into an ongoing investigation concerning potential misconduct involving Freddie O’Connell’s office and the Nashville police force. He stated: “Sneak peek from my investigation: Freddie O’Connell’s office is possibly pressuring Nashville police officers to follow the same corrupt playbook.”
On July 9, 2025, Rep. Ogles tweeted about what he described as a “reign of tyranny” imposed by Democrats aligned with the Biden Administration against concerned parents. He accused mainstream media of attempting to bury these stories of injustice but credited former President Trump for bringing them to light: “We can never forget the reign of tyranny imposed on concerned parents by power-hungry Democrats doing the Biden Administration’s bidding.”
