Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, has shared a series of tweets expressing his views on recent political events. Born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1971 and residing in Columbia, Ogles graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
On May 20, 2025, Rep. Ogles questioned the legality of actions taken during President Biden’s tenure. He tweeted: “If Biden wasn’t lucid during his presidency, how much of it was actually legal? The bills he signed, the executive orders, the international deals—if he didn’t knowingly give the go-ahead because he was mentally checked out, then those actions lack legitimacy.”
Later that day, Ogles commented on a video posted by Nashville State Representative Aftyn Behn. He stated: “This is Nashville State Representative Aftyn Behn. She just posted a 15-minute video of her and a friend stalking the Tennessee Highway Patrol as they carried out official duties—openly admitting they were trying to stall law enforcement from stopping illegal aliens.”
Continuing his critique of local officials’ actions on May 20, 2025, Rep. Ogles criticized Nashville Democrats for their interference with law enforcement activities: “She literally admitted—on video—to stopping ICE agents. While police are out catching murderers and deporting rapists, Nashville Democrats are playing stakeout like children—trying to disrupt law enforcement.” He further questioned why Mayor O’Connell had not yet condemned these actions.
Andy Ogles has served in Congress since replacing Jim Cooper in 2023.
