Rep. Andy Ogles, representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, recently shared several views via his official social media account. Ogles, born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1971, succeeded Jim Cooper as a member of the U.S. Congress and resides in Columbia. The congressman also holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
In a post dated April 21, 2025, Ogles criticized perceived interference within the Pentagon, writing that “Deep State leakers inside the Pentagon are trying to sabotage @SecDef.” He suggests this is due to their fear of President Trump’s policy initiatives. Ogles labeled President Trump’s reforms as “America-First” and asserted that, “we’re winning—and history will prove us right.”
Later that day, Ogles expressed condolences regarding the passing of Pope Francis, saying “Praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of Pope Francis.” He acknowledged the grief of American Catholics, referring to it as “millions of American Catholics mourning his passing.”
On the evening of April 21, 2025, Ogles addressed crime in Washington, D.C., by referencing President Trump’s stance. He contended that “the D.C. government has completely surrendered its streets to criminals and thugs.” Ogles advocated for the BOWSER Act to restore order, asserting that it is time to “revoke home rule and pass the BOWSER Act.”
Andy Ogles’s comments reflect the current political climate and his alignment with Trump’s policies, as well as his concerns over governance and social issues.
