Rep. Andy Ogles, U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on July 16, 2025, expressing strong support for former President Donald Trump and criticizing political opponents.
In a tweet at 16:18 UTC, Ogles wrote: “Trump is winning! Our economy is hotter than ever. Trump delivered the first monthly surplus in nearly a decade. Congress needs to keep up the momentum and pass his rescissions. The people are watching.”
Later that day at 16:46 UTC, he criticized Rep. Eric Swalwell, stating: “Eric Swalwell is calling ICE patriots bank robbers. Attacks are up 800% because people like Fang Fang’s lover won’t stop running their mouths.”
At 19:17 UTC, Ogles continued his praise of Trump’s policies with another post: “Trump closed the border. Trump saved the economy. Trump rebuilt our military. Trump is the hardest worker in Washington, D.C. The best thing a Senator can do is follow his lead and PASS the rescission cuts.”
Andy Ogles succeeded Jim Cooper as representative of Tennessee’s 5th district after the 2022 elections and has served in Congress since January 2023 (https://www.congress.gov/member/andy-ogles/O000174). Born in Nashville in 1971 and currently residing in Columbia, Tennessee, Ogles holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
