Congressman Andy Ogles of Tennessee has introduced the Make Greenland Great Again Act, aiming to support President Trump’s efforts to negotiate with Denmark for the acquisition of Greenland. The bill, backed by several Republican House members, seeks to enhance American economic interests and national security.

“The acquisition of Greenland by the United States is essential to our national security,” stated Congressman Ogles. He emphasized that “American economic and security interests will no longer take a backseat.”

Congresswoman Harshbarger expressed her support, noting that “Greenland becoming part of the US would not only provide a strategic military advantage and boost the American economy but also benefit the residents of Greenland.”

Congressman Dunn highlighted the existing relationship between Greenland and the United States, which includes the Pituffik air base. He mentioned that Congress is encouraged by President Trump’s vision for strengthening ties with Greenland.

“Securing Greenland is critical to advancing America’s national security and economic interests,” said Congressman Moore. He believes this legislation sends a clear message about America’s leadership.

Congressman Rulli compared this potential acquisition to historic events like the Louisiana Purchase, stating it would restore national pride.

The bill has 12 co-sponsors including Representatives Mike Lawler, Dan Crenshaw, Brian Babin, Claudia Tenney, Neal Dunn, Diana Harshbarger, Barry Moore, Mike Rulli, Randy Weber, Anna Paulina Luna, Lauren Boebert, and Jim Baird.
