Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district, shared a series of tweets on March 25, 2025, criticizing the actions of Judge Theodore Chuang and USAID spending practices. Ogles has been serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Jim Cooper.

In his first tweet, Rep. Ogles expressed concerns over Judge Theodore Chuang’s decision in the Maryland Federal District Court. He stated that “Judge Theodore Chuang, Maryland Federal District Court, is mandating President Trump and DOGE defy the American people’s mandate by propping up USAID.” The congressman further criticized USAID for allegedly spending millions on various projects abroad.

Ogles continued his criticism in another tweet posted at the same time, accusing Judge Chuang of obstructing former President Trump’s efforts and defending what he described as reckless spending by USAID. He called for accountability from Congress, suggesting potential impeachment with “Federal Judge Theodore Chuang—a career Democrat operative—is obstructing President Trump and protecting USAID’s reckless spending.”

Further highlighting his concerns about ideological issues under Judge Chuang’s watch, Ogles referenced Cheryl Harris’s work “Whiteness As Property,” which was republished during Chuang’s tenure. He quoted Harris’s argument that whiteness assumes white supremacy as an example of radical ideology promoted by the judge: “Take ‘Whiteness As Property,’ republished under Chuang’s watch by Cheryl Harris—now on LA’s Reparations Advisory Committee.”
