Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues. He succeeded Jim Cooper in 2023 and continues to voice his opinions on current events and policies.

On May 21, 2025, Rep. Ogles raised questions about a potential Department of Justice investigation regarding the allocation of COVID relief funds. He stated, “Should the DOJ start its own investigation? → Biden sent COVID cash to cities → Freddie O’Connell funneled it to TIRRC (Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition) → TIRRC failed audits, then sent $30K to the Mayor’s ‘Belonging Fund’ → That fund may help”.

The following day, on May 22, 2025, Rep. Ogles expressed his condolences and concern over a recent shooting incident outside the Capital Jewish Museum. He tweeted, “Praying for the families and friends of the victims of last night’s horrific shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum. This wasn’t just a senseless act of violence—it was fueled by hatred against Jews.” In his message, he also criticized what he perceives as anti-law enforcement sentiment from the D.C. City Council.

Later that same day, Rep. Ogles announced his participation in a live session with Benny Johnson by tweeting, “I’m LIVE with @bennyjohnson !!!!!!”

Andy Ogles was born in Nashville in 1971 and currently resides in Columbia. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.
