Rep. Andy Ogles, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 5th district since 2023, shared a series of tweets reflecting his perspectives on President Donald Trump’s recent budget proposal and immigration enforcement. Born in Nashville in 1971 and currently residing in Columbia, Ogles has been vocal about his political stances following his succession of Jim Cooper in 2023.
On May 2, 2025, Rep. Ogles focused on President Trump’s latest budget announcement, stating “Today, President Trump released a game-changing budget: it slashes the bloated, woke, and weaponized bureaucracy by 20%—rolling it back even further than pre-COVID levels. This budget is exactly what Republicans were elected to deliver: securing the homeland, cutting the”. The budget, according to Ogles, aims to significantly reduce the federal bureaucracy.
Later that day, Ogles reiterated his approval of the budget by describing its priority in a brief tweet: “President Trump’s budget is 100% AMERICA FIRST.” This aligns with Ogles’ support for policies emphasizing national interests.
In another tweet on May 5, 2025, Ogles commented on immigration enforcement policies: “Illegal aliens break the law and they get sent home. That’s how it works. If you don’t want ICE at your door, then self-deport. Kudos to DHS for keeping TN-05 safe.” This reflects his stance on the role of immigration enforcement in maintaining public safety.
Andrey Ogles graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University with a BS.
