On Wednesday, September 21st, The University of the South Men's Soccer team took on the Huntington Hawks in their third straight home match. An offensive outpouring led to the Tigers walking away with a 5-0 victory. Trevor Reichman put two past the keeper, while Tyler Cozzie, Mancken Camp, and Payne Gridley also found the back of the net.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Sewanee (5-1-0) 5, Huntingdon (1-5-1) 0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tyler Cozzie got the scoring started early, scoring his third goal in two games off of a feed from Connor Dail.
- Payne Gridley put his second of the year home, again off of a pas from Dail, as he stuck it in the upper corner.
- Dail notched his third assist of the game by finding Mancken Camp for Camp's first of the year, pushing the Tiger lead to 3-0 ging into the break.
- Trevor Reichman put home his third and fourth goals of the year within two minutes of each other in the 56th and 58th minute to make 5-0.
KEY SEWANEE STATISTICS:
- Sewanee out shot the Hawks 27-4.
- This marks the 5th shutout ouf the year for the Tigers, and the third in a row.
KEY HUNTINGDON STATISTICS:
- The Hawk goalkeepers combined for 11 saves.
