The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team scored four goals in each half to clean sheet Pikeville in an 8-nil victory on Sunday, October 9. The Firehawks would see eight different goal scorers in a dominating win.
UTS would get on the board first in the 13th minute. Alejandro Blanco would find the net unassisted. Two minutes later, Carlos Galan would finish a Miguel Tizapa pass to lift the Firehawks quickly to a 2-nil lead. Tizapa would break away and net a shot in the 19th minute. Manuel Otero would score the final first-stanza goal from the helper by Manuel Morales. UTS would lead in shots 27-6.
The second half was all Firehawks. Eleven minutes into the period, Konstantinos Theodorakis would score from the Manuel Flores and Blanco assist. Manuel Silva would lift the Firehawks to a 6-nil lead with the help of Otero. In the 69th minute, Zach Anderson would finish the Hector Garcia pass. Pietari Vanska would drop the cherry on top with an unassisted goal with just over five minutes left. The Firehawks would outshoot the Bears 43-9 and would lead shots-on-goal 20-4.
Ajay Murray, Aleksander Duus, and Michael Anderson would share the clean sheet. Murry would face four shots and log the win.
