he Tusculum University women's bowling team is in 13th place after day one of the 2023 Mid-Winter Invitational. The three-day, 17-team tournament is being hosted by Arkansas State University at the Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.

This year's tournament field is another strong one as 10 teams ranked in the top-25 nationally are competing including seven listed in the top-10.

The Pioneers bowled a Baker five-game total pinfall of 4,536. Tusculum went winless on the day while facing four nationally-ranked teams to start the competition.

On Friday, TU faced 21st-ranked Lincoln Memorial (1063-970), No. 4 Arkansas State (1138-984), No. 9 Sam Houston State (991-847), No. 12 Louisiana Tech (1008-933) and Youngstown State (989-802).

Tusculum will bowl five traditional games on Saturday including their third match of the day when they face top-ranked and defending national champion McKendree. TU will wrap up the weekend with Bracket play on Sunday.
