The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team saw a 5-2 lead vaporize in the final inning, but timely hitting would propel the Firehawks to a 7-6 walk-off win over Stillman on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the second inning, Kevin McCarthy lasered a solo home run to left to put the Firehawks out front 1-0 after two.

Stillman would push a pair across in the fifth to take the lead 2-1.

In the seventh, Michael Wurtz blasted a two-run bomb scoring Noah Junker. UTS would head to the eighth back on top 3-2.

McCarthy would draw a free pass in the eighth pushing Grayson Willis in to score.

Stillman would cash in on a three RBI double and a steal of home to be poised to leave Pulaski with a win. However, UTS would steal the home win on a Junker 2 RBI double.

Griffin Sahli would get the start. Sahli would toss three innings allowing only a pair of hits and striking out four. Weston Horton would hurl a pair of innings. Horton would allow two earned runs on two hits. Gerry Wayne Davis would allow one hit in two innings of work. Josh Simmons would pitch 1.2 innings. Simmons would suffer four earned runs on four hits. Cody Womble would allow one hit and record the final out taking home the win.
