Rep. Andy Ogles, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 5th district, has been actively communicating with his constituents via social media amid recent natural disasters affecting the state. Ogles, who succeeded Jim Cooper in 2023, is originally from Nashville and resides in Columbia. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University.

On September 27, 2024, Rep. Ogles expressed concern for residents of Unicoi County in a tweet urging safety and prayer: "Stay safe, Tennessee, and pray for Unicoi County."

By September 30, 2024, he shared his distress over the impact of Hurricane Helene on Tennessee: "I am devastated to see the damage caused by Hurricane Helene to Tennessee. Please pay attention to TEMA updates." In this post, he advised citizens to heed updates from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA).

Later that day, Rep. Ogles posted another message without additional commentary: "https://t.co/7pChvK3TFQ"
