WAIVING A REQUIREMENT OF CLAUSE 6(A) OF RULE XIII WITH RESPECT TO CONSIDERATION OF CERTAIN RESOLUTIONS REPORTED FROM THE COMMITTEE ON RULES
Committee on Rules: Full Committee held a hearing on legislation on waiving a requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII with respect to consideration of certain resolutions reported from the Committee on Rules, and for other purposes. The Committee granted, by record vote of 7-4, a rule that waives the requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII, requiring a two-thirds vote to consider a report from the Committee on Rules on the same day it is presented to the House with respect to any resolution reported through the legislative day of July 29, 2022. The rule also provides that section 7 of House Resolution 1289 shall have no force or effect and that clause 7(a)(1) of rule XV shall not apply through the legislative day of Friday, September 16, 2022.
