The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team celebrated an exceptional senior group with a 4-nil win against former Tran-South Athletic Conference foe Freed-Hardeman on Saturday, October 1.
The Firehawks would get on the scoreboard late in the first half. In the 35th minute, Rodrigo Costa would score off the Manuel Otero assist. UTS would lead in shots 11-1.
In the second half, the Firehawks would strike three more times. Costa would complete a brace from the Carlos Galan cross in the 66th minute. Galan would add a score in the 80th minute from the Otero assist. With eight seconds left, Ramone Lewis would net a header from an Otero helper. The Firehawks would outshoot the Lions 27-2 and would lead shots-on-goal 14-1.
Ajay Murray recorded the win. Murray, Michael Anderson, and Yan Rosado would share a clean sheet.
