The University of Tennessee Southern Ekada Named MSC Offensive Player of the Week

Cumberlands' (Ky.)  Laura Navajas and Tennessee Southern's Estelle Badoedana Ekada have been voted MSC Players of the Week, announced conference officials on Monday.

MSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Laura Navajas – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Mid-Fielder – Sr. – Miranda de Ebro, Spain

·         Navajas played a pivotal role in the Patriots' wins over (6) UT-Southern and (14) Cumberland.

·         Recorded a goal and an assist on the week, totaling three shots.

·         Aided the defense in allowing season-low shot totals in both games, and had two takeaways leading to goals.

·         This is the senior's first career MSC Player of the Week honor.

 

MSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Estelle Badoedana Ekada – Tennessee Southern – Forward – Sr. – Ombessa, Cameroon

  • Ekada totaled five goals in the Firehawks' win over Pikeville and a close loss to (4) Cumberlands.
  • She totaled 10 shots, with nine coming on frame.
  • Ekada assisted in three of the teams' eight goals along with her hat trick against Pikeville.
  • This is her third career MSC Player of the Week award.
